An Egyptian actress, she was born in February 1919 in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo, into an artistic family, as she was the sister of actress Amal Zayed. She began her acting career on the radio, and became famous for her role as "Umm Bunduq" in the TV series "Sa'at Li Qalbak" (An Hour for Your Heart) and for her role as "Umm Ali" in the radio series "Aylet Marzouq Effendi".
